To like, to really like, including は&が

すき- to like (the "u" is not prominently pronounced, so it sounds more like "ski" instead of "suki")猫がすきです。The が can be switched out for は, but it will slightly change the meaning.大すき ー to really like (big like)マッシューさんが大好きです。[I really do tho 🙂 hes the bestest.] uwu

Particles は&が

は&が have the same definition, but they are not the same.は emphasizes what comes before it (talks about something)が emphasizes what comes after it (identifies something) Ex:私はKirstenです。<ーPuts emphasis on the name "Kirsten". I am Kirsten.私がKirstenです。<ー Puts emphasis on "I". I am Kirsten.

じゃありませんでした(it was not)

Just something I recall from the other day when I was reading ahead. いいえ、ねこ。じゃありませんでした。犬でした。 No, it was not a cat. It was a dog. Again, the (i) in deshita is "silent" so it's pronounced like desh-ta
